MCA NEED NOT APOLOGISE TO DAP

>> 16 November 2011

KUALA LUMPUR: The DAP is in no position to demand for an apology from the MCA over the party's stand on overseas Malaysians voting in the general election, said MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

Dr Chua said he would not repond to whatever challenges that were thrown at him by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

"I have been asking DAP to publicly tell the people whether the implementation of Hudud by PAS would affect the non-Muslims.

"I also asked the DAP whether the implementation of Hudud would bring a detrimental impact to the country's social, economic, political and educational system on the non-Muslims.

"Not one leader from the DAP or Pakatan Rakyat, which has been openly persuading the non-Muslims to support PAS, is able to give the people a clear and firm answer.

"In view that the top leadership of the DAP is not even democratically elected, hence it is the least qualified party to talk about democracy.

"Please do not politicise the overseas voting issue as a way out of not being able to face the people in answering my questions on the implementation of Hudud law by PAS," Dr Chua said in a statement.

He reiterated MCA's stand that "it is not against overseas Malaysians voting in the upcoming general election."

"However, there are simply too many factors to be considered and resolved before it can be done," he said. - star online
